Fused glass wavy free-standing hand-painted moonlit sea panel with blue background and boat silhouettes.
The panel looks especially effective in front of a light source and, being curved, you could place a couple of tea lights behind it. The appearance and colours of this piece vary according to the light and time of day.
I created an original design for this piece, after becoming fascinated with photos of the super moon, a few years ago. I started with a clear piece of glass and coloured this with Egyptian blue-coloured glass powder and 2 other blues to create the background colours and fired it for the first time. Then I used glass enamel paint to add the moon, moody clouds and detail on the sea, finally adding the little boats and their shadows. The piece was then fired at least one more time to set the paint and to slump the panel into its curved shape.
These panels are individually cut and painted, so will vary in composition from the photos. If you are placing an order and would like to see the actual panel I will be sending out, I’ll be happy to send you a photo in advance.
