Long winter birch panel

Fused glass wavy free-standing hand-painted snowy winter silver birches panel with blue background and organically shaped top. Inspired by the beautiful Somerset woodland between Frome and Mells, where I walk my dog.

This panel looks especially effective in front of a light source or you could place a couple of tea lights behind it. The appearance and colours of this piece vary according to the light and time of day.

I created an original design for this piece, using many photos I have taken. Starting with a clear piece of glass and cut and ground the top to give an organic-type finish. I coloured this with Egyptian blue-coloured glass powder and fired it for the first time. Then I added the moon and snow using enamel paint and the background birch trees using pearl effect enamel glass paint.  Finally I added more enamel paint to include the front birches and the foreground and fired the piece once more.

These panels are individually cut and painted, so will vary slightly from the photos. If you are placing an order and would like to see the actual panel I will be sending out, I’ll be happy to send you a photo in advance.
